Thisbreathtaking piece might as well be set in Budapest with Wolt's riders, butthis is Paris and we follow this headlong dash through the narrow, windingstreets of the French capital. The stakes are high: Souleymane, an undocumentedWest African immigrant, has just two days to prepare for the most importantinterview of his life, where it will be decided whether he can apply forrefugee status. But Souleymane has other things on his mind, too. He supportshimself as a food delivery rider, pedalling his bicycle to fight the rush oftime and every obstacle that fate throws in his path. This fast-paced, starklyrealistic, gripping film won several awards at the Cannes Film Festival, withits leading man, Abou Sangare, shining at its centre in the first film role ofhis life.

Boris Lojkin
Boris Lojkine was born in Paris in 1969. Lojkine first worked as a university professor of philosophy, and only later he became a film director. He began his career in film with two documentaries shot in Vietnam, before his first feature film, Hope, was screened at Cannes in the Critics' Week. Hope was about refugees from Africa and the perilous migration from Africa to Europe. Lojkine filmed the real, existing routes of the people smugglers, depicting the plight of resolute but ultimately vulnerable people with realism and deep compassion. He works with a small crew and likes to shoot with non-actors, letting them improvise and then working their own words into the final story. In his latest film, he explores where and how the journey that began in Hope ends: with the story of Souleymane, Lojkine returns to his hometown, Paris, and shows a completely different, new face of the city.
